Tuesday Transfer Rumours - Tevez, Cahill, Berbatov and Bale
Tevez pronouncement sparks bidding war - Carlos Tevez's formal written statement expressing his need to move away from Manchester has alerted the big two players in Italy and Spain. The Argentinian's desire to leave has been sparked by his wife's refusal to move their family to Northern England. The couple who have two daughters and have recently been reunited are most likely to want to set up their family home in Spain. Barcelona already has Leo Messi in the role beloved by Tevez and so his most likely destination is Real Madrid. Jose Mourinho has remained tight lipped until now, but is expected step in with a bid of around £50 million.

Cahill future to be sorted this week - Owen Coyle has told the clubs courting his in-demand centre back, Gary Cahill, to either put up or shut up. Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign the Bolton International with Chelsea and Tottenham following closely behind. Bolton’s asking price of £17 million is generally considered too high for a player yet to fully establish himself at International level and who has no experience of Champions League football. However Arsene Wenger needs to quickly reverse the flow of players out of the Emirates and a deal around the £15 million mark should see the deal done.

Berbatov to end Old Trafford misery - Following his embarrassing exclusion from United’s Champions League Final squad, Dimitar Berbatov is desperate to quit Old Trafford as soon as possible. The Bulgarian wishes to leave not just Manchester, but also England and Alex Ferguson is unlikely to stand in his way. Several clubs on the continent are keen to gain the experienced striker’s signature with Bayern Munich heading an impressive list of suitors. United have valued the player at around £15 million, but are mostly likely to use him as a makeweight in a bid for Wesley Sneijder.

Bale looking at Milan switch - Despite relatively little UK media speculation about Gareth Bale’s future at White Hart Lane, rumours persist in Italy that a secret bidding war between the two Milan clubs has already started. The Tottenham star shone against both clubs in last season’s Champions League matches and the North London clubs failure to book a second appearance in the competition for the 2011/12 season has unsettled the Welsh wing back. Harry Redknapp has spoken of his determination to keep all his star players, but money always talks at the Lane and a bid of anything over £25 million could see Bale playing in the next Champions League after all.
