Transfer Round Up 17 June - Arsenal target Nani whilst Ronaldo rumours gather pace

We start today with Manchester United winger Nani. Nani is in the final year of his contract and United have yet to make an offer of extension. There are several clubs throughout Europe that would love to have the Portuguese international but only a few offers have been made to date. Last week Galatasaray made a £6.5m bid for the winger, but it was quickly shot down. United believe Nani is much more valuable than that and are in a wait pattern. Other clubs that look to make a play for Nani in the near future are Monaco and Juventus and both look willing to up the ante to the Nani sweepstakes.

Nani is not too worried about his future though. He was recently quoted as saying; 'My future? Nothing is certain. I am calm. I have everything in my hands. I am not saying that I will not continue at Manchester United. I will think about what is best for me.” That is one thing that Nani has always done, looked after himself, either on or off the pitch.

Time for some quick math and Cristiano Ronaldo: It has been reported that American owners, the Glazers, will hand new Manchester United manager David Moyes, £60m for his war chest. Market value for a “Ronaldo” is about £80-85m. Somewhere in this equation the math doesn’t add up and it looks that United will not be able to fund a move for Ronaldo. If these amounts are true and United are no longer in the running for Ronaldo’s services, then the door has been flung wide open and look to PSG and Monaco climbing over the top of each other to acquire one of the greatest players of our time. Whether Ronaldo would be willing to go to France and play for either team, remains to be seen but both should put up extraordinary bids for the Portuguese international. Money talks, the question is, will CR7 listen.

AC Milan is looking to move Robinho in order to fund a move for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez. Tevez has been linked with numerous teams this summer but AC Milan has never given up hope in signing the 29-year-old. The story is that Robinho is heading back to his former club Santos for around £5m. Now the deal is not done yet and AC Milan may still have to fight off a last minute grab from Juventus who are monitoring the proceedings. If this deal is going to happen, it looks to be happening this week.

We finish with a few “Quick Hits.” It is being stated in the Spanish media that Barcelona are in the market for Arsenal centre-back Laurent Koscielny after giving up on Manchester City's Vincent Kompany, Paris St-Germain's Thiago Silva and Chelsea's David Luiz. Koscielny is versatile enough to fit in at Barca but I don’t see Arsene Wenger giving up his starting centre-back without a fight.Tottenham look to be showing an interest in Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin. The Colombian currently has many suitors across Europe so if Spurs want him, they may have to enter a bidding war for him.

Speaking of Spurs, it looks that PSG are more than just a little interested in Andre Villas-Boas. PSG are still looking for Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement and have made contact with AVB’s agent to inquire on the Spurs managers’ situation at White Hart Lane. If PSG pull this move off, look for them also to become the front runners in obtaining Gareth Bale’s signature. This would be quite a coup if PSG can get these deals done.
