Top 10 Strikers in the world 2012: 3 - Robin van Persie

Last season, 2011/2012, Robin Van Persie managed to score 30 Goals in the Barclays Premier League. He is part of an elite group, with only 6 other representatives to achieve such an award.

However, you could argue that Robin's achievements are much greater, due to the fact that Robin scored 30 out of the 74 total goals for Arsenal, also assisting 9 more. He has also managed to score 100 premier league goals.

Boasting a 5.8 shots per goal ratio, he was a key member of an Arsenal squad which managed to earn yet another Champions League Spot. His efforts that season got him a £24,000,000 transfer to Manchester United.

Robin Van Persie – Becoming Captain - Upon the loss of Cesc Fabregas, Robin Van Persie gained the captains arm band. This was a signifcant moment in Robin's career, with the arm band on we were able to see how much he loved Arsenal Football Club, and his leadership skills were excellent. It was around the time of gaining captaincy when Robin's injury worries came to an end, and his rich run of goals continued from the previous season.
