Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was full of praise for Carlos Tevez after the striker scored four times in the 5-3 Carling Cup quarter-final win over Blackburn Rovers.
The 24-year-old Argentinian has been forced to start from the bench for a majority of United's fixtures this season, but made his mark in style with a devastating display at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.
Afterwards, Ferguson beamed: "Carlos' commitment was absolutely brilliant. It was a marvellous effort to get four goals.
"The great bonus for me is that we have players who are now coming into form. Carlos scored four times and produced a marvellous performance, as did Anderson and Jonny Evans.
"It definitely makes my job more difficult, although it also makes the club stronger."
Tevez himself added: "I am very proud to score four goals.
"It is the first time I have done it in my career and it is better because it came for Manchester United.
"I have not played very often, so I was looking forward to the game and I am happy with my performance."
