Tevez brace delights Fergie
08 Mar 2009 - 10:18:50
Sir Alex Ferguson singled out Carlos Tevez for praise after his two-goal blast helped Manchester United ease into the FA Cup semi-finals at the expense of Fulham.
Tevez opened the scoring with a 20th minute header before producing a superb 20-yard shot to double the advantage 15 minutes later.
Second-half goals from Wayne Rooney and Ji-Sung Park wrapped up a comprehensive 4-0 sixth-round victory and ensured United's quintuple dreams remains alive.
"It was a superb performance from Carlos Tevez," Ferguson told MUTV.
"He was like a jack-in-the-box all day and he showed great energy, getting on the ball and showing great movement.
"His second goal in particular was fantastic."
Meanwhile, Ferguson was delighted with the all-round team performance at Craven Cottage.
"Right from the word go all the players played with great energy and enjoyment," he added.
"They went out to enjoy themselves and were backed by a fantastic support."
