    Tevez: I will join United

    08 Jul 2007 - 11:48:02

Carlos Tevez has vowed to complete his loan move to Manchester United despite doubts persisting over his exit from West Ham United.

The Argentina international is believed to be on the verge of signing for the Premier League champions on a two-year loan contract negotiated by agent Kia Joorabchian.

However, the switch is believed to have stalled as West Ham are refusing to sanction any loan departure for a player they signed in controversial fashion last summer.

The Premier League have also promised to scrutinise any move for the 23-year-old striker, but Tevez is adamant he will be playing at Old Trafford next season.

"Through my backers, I have given my word to Mr Ferguson," he told The People.

"They have told him I will be at Manchester United next season and once I make a promise I don't go back on it.

"There isn't a player who would turn down this opportunity and negotiations are too far advanced to go back now."

Meanwhile, Tevez has urged Hammers fans to support his decision to leave Upton Park, saying: "I hope the fans understand. I had two very good offers from foreign clubs in January but I refused because I had unfinished business.

"It would have been easy to move on, but I couldn't leave the club and the fans in that predicament.

"It will be an emotional and special day whenever I return to play them."
