Susan Boyle helps Wayne Rooney hit the right note
Wayne Rooney has revealed he has turned to Scottish warbler Susan Boyle to help him through his patchy goalscoring form by listening to her music before games. The striker has not scored for the Reds from open play since March and has started listening to SuBo on his iPod to help him relax. I have the same things on my iPod as always really Stereophonics, Mumford & Sons, Kings of Leon, said Rooney. Shaun Wright-Phillips did my iPod at the World Cup. There's about 10,000 songs on it but there's only about three songs that I actually listen to. Lately for some reason, before the last few games, I have been listening to Susan Boyle. Her album's really good and it relaxes me. When we're in the hotel before we go for our pre-match meal, I always put the Stereophonics on. Then in the dressing room, I tend to listen to more relaxing music like Susan Boyle but it changes. A lot of the foreign lads listen to rap music, which is okay but before a game I don't really enjoy listening to that. My favourite album for the year is probably Mumford & Sons' Say No More, he added. I liked JLS this year as well. Rooney also revealed he is a big fan of the X Factor, along with a number of his United team-mates. But he's not convinced anyone will be swapping their boots for a microphone any time soon. I love the X Factor and watch it every year, he said. I liked Rebecca and thought she probably should have won it but Matt was good as well. A lot of the United lads are X Factor fans. When we play on a Sunday, we're all in the hotel on Saturday so we'll watch it. Gary Neville used to play the guitar. He plays well but I don't think he's played it for a couple of years. I don't think there are many in the dressing room who can sing though.
