Former Norway international striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that he rejected the chance to coach FC Molde because he hopes to manage Manchester United in the future.
The 37-year-old is currently working as the reserve-team coach at Old Trafford but retains an interest in Molde, the club he left to sign for United in 1996.
"Of course it was tempting," he admitted. "I am a local, I have a sense of belonging at Molde. But I want to be a manager in England. I would like to become manager of Manchester United, too.
"As long as the boss (Sir Alex Ferguson) stays, I stay. My job at United is dependent on him. Had Ferguson not been manager at United I wouldn't have been here.
"We have a really good relationship and I enjoy working under him."
