Sir Alex rubbishes reports Ronaldo and Tevez will leave United for Madrid

Published: 17 Apr 2009 - 14:42:43

Sir Alex Ferguson has dismissed speculation that his all-conquering Manchester United squad could come under attack from hungry predators this summer.   In the immediate aftermath of Wednesday's Champions League triumph over Porto, Cristiano Ronaldo was again linked with Real Madrid.   Now Carlos Tevez appears to be attracting interest from Spain and Italy as well because his current loan deal expires in the summer.   Never ending story: Ronaldo is continually linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid while Tevez (below) has also been the subject of transfer speculation Ferguson offered an insight into his thoughts on the Ronaldo situation a fortnight ago with an angry response to even being asked about a subject he felt had been dealt with when he launched his famous 'I wouldn't sell them a virus' volley during the Club World Cup in Japan.   This time he adopted a more measured, if somewhat sarcastic, tone.   'It is dead easy to take our players isn't it?' he said. 'It happens all the time. It is not something we worry about. It is nice to be talked about I suppose.' Former Real president Ramon Calderon has claimed a deal is in place for Ronaldo to sign for the Spanish giants this summer, although if there is an agreement, it does not appear to be with the United hierarchy.   Not even the Red Devils' well-publicised debts in excess of £650million have altered that stance.   Meanwhile, Ferguson has always insisted the Tevez issue is not likely to be cleared up before the end of the season.   It is thought United are baulking at an asking price said to be around £30million.   The Argentina star has proved to be a popular figure with the Old Trafford faithful but his appearances have been slashed following the arrival of Dimitar Berbatov, and it is hard to see how such a fee could be justified.   Rooney truce: Everton are still in my heart, Wayne tells angry fans ALL THE WEEKEND'S FA CUP SEMI-FINAL AND PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM NEWS Fergie declares war on Rafa!
