Sir Alex hails fantastic Ronaldo on eve of Uniteds Euro crunch with Arsenal
Published: 04 May 2009 - 10:00:55
Sir Alex Ferguson has said there is only one word to derscribe Cristiano Ronaldo - fantastic. Despite being the leading scorer in the Barclays Premier League with 17 goals - and Ronaldo missed the early weeks of the season because of a foot injury - many feel the World Footballer of the Year has been disappointing this time round. But as Manchester United prepared for their Champions League showdown with Arsenal, Ferguson sprang to the defence of Ronaldo who has constantly been linked with Real Madrid. Ferguson said: 'What happens when a player scores 40-odd goals is that every opponent who plays against him the following season has to redefine his thinking how to stop him. Giggs says United are better by half as they prepare for huge clash at Emirates.
