Sir Alex Ferguson eyes Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Manchester United move
Manchester United yesterday completed the £3.5 million signing of Bordeaux winger Gabriel Obertan, but the club have missed out on several players over the summer as they attempt to find a suitable replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. According to the Mirror, Ferguson could turn to the San Siro following the news of Lyon striker Karim Benzema opting to join Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery's decision to follow his heart to La Liga. Despite the free signing of former Newcastle and England striker Michael Owen, Ferguson will be desperate to add extra firepower after the goal-spree run the Portuguese international was known for during his time at Old Trafford. Inter have won four titles on the trot and have added South Americans Diego Milito and Thiago Motta to their roster while so far fending off interest in their talisman Ibrahimovic. Meanwhile, AC Milan president and Italy Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has said his club are still the best in the country despite selling Brazilian superstar Kaka to Real Madrid. Berlusconi, who still thinks his team are top of the tree, said: "We have decided to look forward, aiming at renewing our resources. But our squad is still formidable and we expect a good season. "The fans are calm, this will not be a team that lies down."
