Sir Alex Ferguson ends Dimitar Berbatov exit talk

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has moved to end the rumours that Dimitar Berbatov will be leaving Old Trafford this summer. Ferguson admitted he had misunderstood a question asked by a Bulgarian reporter and his resulting answer gave rise to speculation that Berbatov could be sold to French side Paris Saint Germain. The Bulgarian striker, 30, finished joint top-scorer in the Premier League last season with 20 goals, but he subsequently fell out with Fergie after being dropped for the Champions League final. Net result: Berbatov will not be joining PSG And Ferguson has the likes of Michael Owen, Danny Welbeck and Federico Macheda to call on, but is in no doubt that Berbatov will remain at the club. 'It's nonsense,' said Ferguson. 'There's absolutely no interest or encouragement from us either.' And on the mix-up with the journalists where he seemed to imply Berbatov could leave, he said:: 'I thought she (the reporter) was asking about our chances for the season.'
