Sir Alex Ferguson compares Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez to Gary Lineker

Sir Alex Ferguson has compared free-scoring Javier Hernandez to England striker Gary Lineker. The Mexican, nicknamed 'Little Pea', scored again from close range in midweek to take his tally in his first season with Manchester United to 18. And Ferguson, who will hope the 22-year-old can score another key goal at Wembley today, believes Hernandez has the same knack of being in the right place at the right time as Lineker. Right place, right time: Just like Lineker, Javier Hernandez has a habit of scoring Lineker probably never scored a good goal in his life,' said United boss Ferguson. 'It would always come off his chest, his shin or it would get a rebound off the goalkeeper. But he was always in really good areas and positions.' Hernandez has already done better in his first season in English football, scoring 18 times to Lineker's one for Leicester, though by the time the England striker was 22, he notched an impressive 26 goals. Hernandez will no doubt be in good positions again today and might be hoping to emulate one of Lineker's better goals his second in the 1991 FA Cup semifinal against Arsenal.  Who needs Roo when United's treble-chasing 'stand-ins' have been first class?Jamie Redknapp: Why I think Little Pea could be the buy of the centuryHow United's Little Pea emerged to put the big buys in the shadeAll the latest Manchester United news, features and opinion  Explore more:People: Alex Ferguson, Gary Lineker Places: United Kingdom
