Sir Alex Ferguson is confident son Darren will emerge stronger from his dismissal by Preston. Ferguson Jnr was axed by the Deepdale outfit on Wednesday after less than a year in the job. It was the latest in a spate of managerial departures during December, the most high-profile of which was Sam Allardyce being dumped by Blackburn. Bounce back: Sir Alex Ferguson believes his son, Darren, will learn a lot from his Preston dismissal For Ferguson though, it was a new experience after enjoying a successful start to his managerial career at Peterborough. At least his dad can pass on some helpful advice, having suffered a similar fate at St Mirren, as he was taking his first tentative steps on the ladder. And the man who has gone on to become one of the most successful managers of all time through his work with Aberdeen and Manchester United, is confident Darren will be better for the experience. Struggle: Preston are battling at the wrong the end of the Championship table 'It always seems to happen that managers lose their jobs at this time of year,' said Ferguson. 'Darren will be alright. He will get over it.
