Sir Alex defends 30million flop Berbatov despite a lack of goals for United

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has defended Dimitar Berbatov in the wake of growing criticism of the £30.75million striker.The Bulgaria international, signed from Tottenham Hotspur at the beginning of the season, has struggled to replicate the form he showed at White Hart Lane and his languid style of play has yet to win over United's legion of fans.Berbatov has scored just nine Premier League goals since his big money move to Old Trafford and hasn't scored in the Champions League since October.
