Manchester United's midfield ace Paul Scholes has confirmed that he expects to bring down the curtain on his illustrious Old Trafford career in the next two years.
The 33-year-old former England international's current contract runs out at the end of the coming campaign and Scholes accepts that that may mark the end of his time with the Red Devils.
He admitted: "How long will I go on? I'd think two years at the most.
"I have one year left on my contract and hopefully I'll get another one, but I suppose it all depends on how you're feeling and how you're playing.
"At the moment I just think two years would be about right.
"I can't say that I can't wait to finish, but I am looking forward to finishing with everything that goes with it.
"I suppose people are just very invasive and are always wanting to know what you're going to do.
"The only thing I will definitely miss is the football, not the general life of a footballer."
Scholes scored 14 goals in 66 appearances for England before quitting the international scene in the summer of 2004.
At United, Scholes has made more than 500 appearances and has helped the club win eight Premier League titles, two FA Cups and secure two Champions League successes.
