Scholes only interested in silverware

Paul Scholes says silverware, and not history-making, floats his boat. The 35-year-old United veteran has nine Premier League title medals. A 10th in May would mean an historic first ever fourth league championship in a row for the Reds. "Three in a row was a big achievement and now we want to go one step further," said Paul. "But the chance to make history doesn't drive me - I just want to win every game and hopefully win every trophy, whether it's the first time I've won it or the 10th. The aim each year is to win the league. If that means making history then terrific - if not, so be it." United have hit the front at the critical spring stage of the programme. And after the visit to the Reebok to face Bolton this Saturday teatime comes the crunch against title rivals Chelsea at Old Trafford on Easter Saturday following the Champions League first leg tie against Bayern Munich in Germany on Tuesday. Scholes hopes United's title chase know-how can swing the balance. "Maybe that experience will help us, maybe we know what it takes to win the league," said Scholes. "But every season throws up new twists and new challenges - all we can do is hope we react to those challenges in the right way. "The game against Chelsea is going to be massive and we know we need to win that one. But I'm sure we can do it."
