Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is confident that Wayne Rooney will be fit enough to feature in Monday's Premier League encounter with Fulham at Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old former Everton star has been sidelined for three weeks since twisting an ankle in a training ground accident.
Ferguson told United's official website: "Wayne's been training terrifically and his fitness levels are good.
"He did all his running last week and he got through that fine.
"He's been on the football pitch this week and trained with the first team on Friday.
"Now he's got three days before the Fulham game and I hope he'll be ready. He won't need long to get his rhythm back."
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo is on a three-man shortlist for FIFA's world player of the year award.
AC Milan star Kaka is the favourite to win the accolade while Barcelona's Lionel Messi makes up the trio. The award will be made in Zurich on 17 December.
