Wayne Rooney will make his Manchester United comeback in next Monday's Premier League clash with Fulham.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed the England striker is progressing well from the ankle injury picked up in training earlier this month.
Rooney had been in a rich vein of scoring form before picking up the problem as he had netted nine times in his last nine games for club and country.
The 22-year-old has missed the games against Blackburn and Bolton in the league and Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League but is set to face the Cottagers at Old Trafford.
"Wayne's making good progress. He did some running last week and resumed training this week," revealed Ferguson after Tuesday's 2-1 European victory over Sporting.
"We are looking at him making his comeback against Fulham."
Meanwhile, United skipper Gary Neville will continue his own comeback from long-term ankle and hamstring problems for the club's reserves on Thursday evening.
