Manchester United have confirmed that Wayne Rooney will be fit enough to play against Lille in Wednesday's Champions League last 16 second leg match at Old Trafford.
Rooney had to be substituted in the weekend win at Liverpool after a clash with Jamie Carragher left him requiring stitches in a knee injury.
However, scans have revealed no serious damage and the 21-year-old is set to take his place in the starting line-up as United aim to build on their 1-0 win from the first leg in Lens.
"Wayne is fine. We have a couple of doubts, but Wayne is not one of them," said United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is missing after having minor knee surgery last week while Paul Scholes' three-match domestic suspension following his red card at Anfield does not stop him facing Lille.
Meanwhile, assistant boss Carlos Queiroz has told the United players not to be over-confident going into the game.
He said: "We are in front in the tie, so we need a cool approach to the game.
"We've got to control the game from the very first minute and show Lille that we want to win.
"In first half-an-hour if we smash their hopes of getting a result, I believe we will be able to win the game and move into the last eight."
