Rooney in restaurant ruck

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has confirmed he was involved in an altercation with Blackburn Rovers defender Michael Gray last weekend.
Press reports on Friday claimed the 20-year-old punched the drunken Gray after he made insulting remarks to the England striker's fiancee, Coleen McLoughlin, at the Panacea restaurant in Manchester.
A spokesman for Rooney admitted the two Premiership stars had clashed, but refused to say whether or not they came to blows.
"Wayne and Coleen were enjoying a night out with three other couples and were having a quiet dinner when Michael came up to their table uninvited," said the spokesman.
"Michael then began making a number of remarks which were offensive to Coleen and Wayne's other female guests.
"Several times, Wayne asked Michael to leave. It was a brief incident and as far as Wayne is concerned, he bears no ill-feeling towards Michael."
Gray's agent refused to make any comment about the incident.
