Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is hoping Cristiano Ronaldo remains at Old Trafford for 'as long as possible'.
Rooney and the prolific Ronaldo have combined for a total of 59 goals this season as the Red Devils retained their Premier League crown and secured a place in the Champions League Final.
But reacting to rumours that Real Madrid are keen to seen the Portugal international, Rooney has urged his team-mate to remain in Manchester.
He said: "I hope the partnership will continue for years.
"Ronaldo is a great player and it will be brilliant if we can keep him at the club for as long as possible. He's an unbelievable player.
"What he's done for United in the last few years is brilliant and it makes you work hard."
Meanwhile, the England striker claims he is happy to play second fiddle to his attacking colleague in the goalscoring stakes.
"For Ronaldo to score those goals is helping the team," he continued.
"I've got no problem if he scores 60 goals in a season and I don't get anywhere near that."
