Rooney backing for Ronaldo

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has revealed he voted for Didier Drogba in the PFA Player of the Year awards - but only because he couldn't vote for team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo.
PFA rules prevent players from voting for team-mates, but Rooney believes Ronaldo will end up winning the award ahead of the Chelsea striker.
The Portugal international is in the running for both the Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards and Rooney believes his in-form team-mate could complete a clean sweep.
"I think Ronaldo will win it (the main award), but he could win both," Rooney told the club's official website. "He's been brilliant all season.
"I picked Drogba - only because we weren't allowed to pick any of our team-mates. But Drogba has been fantastic this season, as has Cesc Fabregas, who I voted for Young Player of the Year.
"I hope Ronaldo will win it. If he does, it will be fully deserved."
Meanwhile, captain Gary Neville has admitted he is relishing the season run-in with United battling for silverware in the Premiership, Champions League and FA Cup.
"It is a great prospect for all our players knowing we are going into the last month of the season still going for the three major trophies," he admitted.
"It is where we wanted to be for the last three seasons and now we are here, we are going to enjoy it.
"There are similarities (to 1999) as we are still in the three competitions and it is tremendous achievement to be in the three competitions at this stage, not just for ourselves but for Chelsea as well.
"But there is a long way to go and we haven't won anything yet, we don't have any medals round our necks yet."
