Cristiano Ronaldo has vowed to end the saga surrounding his future in the coming week after suggesting he is happy to stay at Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old Portugal international had refused to pledge his future to the Premier League and European champions following talk of a £100million move to Real Madrid.
But Ronaldo, who scored 42 times in all competitions during the recently completed season, is ready to draw a line under the speculation and commit his future to the Red Devils.
"My future will be clear next week," he said. "Everyone will be pleased - my club as well as me.
"I think I will definitely be here next season. Yes, I want to stay. I have played five years for this club and I'd love to stay here.
"I love the people, the players are fantastic, the atmosphere is unbelievable, the staff are great. That is the reason I want to stay.
"We won the most important trophies this season. I want to do it again next season but no one knows the future.
"I want to stay, I feel very happy in the club. I win trophies, the people are friendly, supporters are amazing, everything is fun for me. It's very good."
Meanwhile, the news comes just hours after Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster declared his belief that Ronaldo will one day move to the Bernabeu.
"Sooner of later, Cristiano Ronaldo will wear white," he claimed.
"If there is any possibility of our recruiting him then Real Madrid have to try."
