Ronaldo has no regrets

Cristiano Ronaldo is certain he made the right decision in not pushing for a move to Real Madrid last summer. The Portugal international completed his £80million transfer from Manchester United to Real on Monday. Last year, however, rumours of a switch dominated the headlines before the forward opted to remain at Old Trafford for the 2008/09 campaign. Ronaldo lifted the Premier League title and League Cup in his final year with the Red Devils but failed to secure back-to-back UEFA Champions League trophies. Looking back at his six-year stay at United, the 24-year-old has no regrets and remains full of admiration for manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Dream "I think we made the right decision. I wanted to win the Premier League and we reached the Champions League final. I am happy with the season I had last year," he said. "I have to say thank you to all (United) supporters, the boss (Sir Alex Ferguson), friends and team-mates - I've been there six years and have friends there. But people will understand and respect my decision. "The great challenge now, and dream, is to play at Real Madrid but I'm going to miss many, many things in Manchester. "That's life. This is my new home, my new club and I'm going to give 100 per cent for this club. "I have made my childhood dream a reality, which was to play for Real Madrid."
