Ron remains coy on future
22 May 2008 - 12:31:24
Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to confirm he will definitely be at Manchester United next season despite their Champions League Final success.
The Portugal international opened the scoring for the Red Devils against Chelsea in Moscow with his 42nd goal of an incredible season.
After Chelsea had levelled the game at 1-1 and the two teams had played out a goalless period of extra-time, Ronaldo then missed a penalty in the shoot-out.
However, John Terry and Nicolas Anelka's own failures from the spot allowed United to claim a third European crown in their history.
However speaking afterwards, Ronaldo was non-committal about his future amid continued talk of a £100million transfer to Real Madrid.
"I don't promise nothing, I don't promise nothing to my mum, I don't promise nothing to the supporters," he said.
"I want to stay, but the future
no-one knows. I want to stay.
"We are going to see in the next two weeks, I don't say I make a decision."
The 23-year-old winger is just one year into a five-year contract signed last season and the Old Trafford club are adamant he is not for sale.
