Ron makes Real admission

Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly admitted that he would like to join Real Madrid later this summer. Brazilian website, Terra, claim to have spoken to Ronaldo as he prepares for the European Championship finals in Austria and Switzerland with Portugal. Ronaldo is reported to have stated: "I want to play for Real Madrid, but only if it is true they are ready to pay me and Manchester United what they have been saying they will. "However, it does not depend on me. It is important to send a message. "From now on I will not talk again about this topic with anyone at all. "I'll only talk about this again after the European Championships. It is not worth asking me, because I will not reply." United have always been clear that Ronaldo is not for sale at any price and had threatened to report Real to FIFA for their continued public pursuit of the goalscoring winger. However, rumours that Ronaldo wanted to make the switch to the Bernabeu gathered pace recently when his godfather, Fernao Sousa, claimed that the 23-year-old had already made his mind up to leave Old Trafford. He told the Daily Express: "I believe Cristiano has taken a decision that he is going to Real Madrid, but he is not going to reveal it until after the European Championships. "Cristiano has always told me that his objectives in England were to win the Premier League and the Champions League. "Now that he has done that, he has nothing left to prove. He knows he needs a new challenge."
