    Real waiting for Ronaldo

    21 Jun 2008 - 12:15:52

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon says that his club are waiting on the next move made by Cristiano Ronaldo before they make an approach to Manchester United for the Portugal ace.

The 23-year-old is poised to make an announcement on his plans for next season, with talk of a world record switch to the Bernabeu reaching fever pitch.

Calderon told AS: "As we have already said many times, it is a problem between Manchester United and the player.

"If the two resolve this situation and Manchester United want to call us, then we will be happy and delighted with them because Cristiano is a great player.

"We can't say anything more, we only talk about our own footballers and Cristiano is Manchester United's."

Ronaldo had stated after his country's exit from Euro 2008: "In two or three days time I will announce my future, because the tournament is over for me.

"I will speak to Manchester United. I will try to reach an agreement and we will see.

"The possibilities of going to Real are big, but it doesn't depend on me and because of that I don't want to talk about it.

"Everyone knows what I want, but in the next two or three days you'll have something new."
