Real Madrid bid to scupper Uniteds swoop for Lyon striker Benzema

Real Madrid are trying to hijack Manchester United's bid to sign Karim Benzema from Lyon. The Spanish giants have turned to the France striker after being frustrated in their attempts to sign David Villa from Valencia. Lyon confirmed their had been approached by the Spanish giants but are determined to keep Benzema from the clutches of both Madrid and United.
