Queiroz cools quit talk

Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz has rubbished reports suggesting he is thinking about leaving the club.
The 54-year-old Portuguese has been backed by Sir Alex Ferguson to take the top job with the Red Devils when he finally retires, but Queiroz was quoted in The Sun as saying that he was thinking about trying his luck elsewhere.
However, Queiroz told Sky Sports News: "It is just a misunderstanding, for sure.
"I don't understand why that has come up, but the most important thing is that I'm happy, I'm very happy with the job and the position at Manchester United.
"The club is happy with me, so there's no reason to waste time with that issue. There is nothing to comment about that because there is no sense to it."
Queiroz had earlier been quoted in The Sun as saying: "I need to reflect on what I want to do in the last part of my career. In December I'm going to stop and think about myself.
"My contract is perpetual and caters for various options, but I only have one life and one career. I am going to think about it and go for the route that makes me most happy.
"I read Sir Alex said that one day he would like me to be United's main coach. That is one reason I am in this project, but I'm not desperate about it.
"In your personal and professional life you always have more ambitions."
Queiroz is currently in his second spell with United, having left Old Trafford in the summer of 2003 to take charge of Real Madrid, returning after less than a year in Spain.
Earlier on in his career, Queiroz coached Sporting Lisbon, Nagoya Grampus Eight and the New York-New Jersey Metrostars, as well as the national teams of Portugal, the UAE and South Africa.
