Preston 2 Sheffield United 1: United loanee Matt James makes his mark

Cheers dad! Preston manager Darren Ferguson Matt James, the second teenager sent out on loan from Manchester United by Sir Alex Ferguson to Preston, managed by son Darren, soon made his mark at Deepdale to send his new side on their way to victory.       Midfielder James struck the opener after 10 minutes with a low shot that went in off Nyron Nosworthy.  Jon Parkin, who had earlier volleyed against a post, made it 2-0after 71 minutes from the rebound when Ian Bennett saved his penalty,awarded for a foul by Nosworthy on Danny Welbeck, the first of thoserecruits from United.       Mark Yeates, who had an angled shot turned on to a post by AndyLonergan just seconds into the second half, replied from close rangefor the visitors after 81 minutes.
