Poll result - United for the title

Football.co.uk readers have voted in their hundreds, and the majority of you think Manchester United will win a record 19th title this season.

We asked who you fancied in the three-horse race between United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

A weighty 48.1% of you backed Sir Alex Ferguson's men to retain the title, no doubt influenced by Wayne Rooney's remarkable form and United's recent victories against AC Milan and Bolton.

Chelsea may have beaten Aston Villa 7-1 on Saturday, but they're third favourites in our poll, with 24.6%.

Arsenal attracted 27.3% of the vote to come in second. Arsene Wenger's side dropped two points at the weekend with a 1-1 draw against Birmingham, but remain just four points behind leaders United, and three adrift of Chelsea.

United host Chelsea on Saturday in what could prove the title decider.
