Police interview Rooney

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was questioned by police on Friday in relation to an alleged fight outside a nightclub.

The 21-year-old England international was interviewed after a photographer claimed he was assaulted outside Panacea in Manchester city centre last month.

A spokesman for the Greater Manchester Police said: "A 21-year-old man was interviewed today at a police station in Greater Manchester.

"He voluntarily attended and was interviewed in connection with an alleged assault on October 15.

"A file is now being prepared for the Crown Prosecution Service."
