Player of the day: Park Ji-Sung

Today’s player of the day is the new Queens Park Rangers signing Park Ji-Sung. Park recently signed for Rangers from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee, signing a two-year contract.
He is the most decorated Asian footballer in history with multiple Premier League titles as well as being, not only the first Asian player to play in the UEFA Champions League final but also the first Asian player to have won the Champions League trophy. Park is able to play anywhere across the midfield and is noted for his exceptional fitness level, discipline, work ethic and off the ball movement.
Park began his football career in his native South Korea before moving to Japanese side Kyoto Purple Sanga. Park then followed his national team manager Guus Hiddink to the Netherlands signing for PSV Eindhoven. After impressing for PSV in Europe, Parks talents were recognised by Sir Alex Ferguson and he signed Park for a fee of around £4 million in July 2005. During his time for Manchester United, Park won the Premier League four times and also won the 2007-08 UEFA Champions League and the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup. Park quickly became a fan favourite at Old Trafford and went on to make 205 appearances in all competitions for United scoring 27 goals.
Park signed for Queens Park Rangers for an undisclosed fee on 9th July 2012 after receiving fewer first team opportunities at Old Trafford and his hotly tipped to be announced the new club captain by manager Mark Hughes, after he stripped the title from Joey Barton due to his actions at the end of the 2011-12 season.
As a member of the South Korean national team, Park won 100 caps and scored 13 goals, and was a member of the team that finished fourth at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He also represented his nation at the 2006 FIFA World Cup and was captain at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Park scored in all three consecutive tournaments, becoming the first South Korean and second only Asian to ever do so. On 31st January 2011 Park announced his international retirement from Football.
