    Park pens new United deal

    18 Sep 2009 - 12:15:40

Manchester United midfielder Ji-Sung Park has signed a new two-year contract that will keep him at Old Trafford until the end of the 2011-12 campaign.

The 28-year-old has spent the last four seasons with United following his transfer from PSV Eindhoven during which time he has featured in 127 matches and scored 12 goals.

"I am so pleased to have this new contract," the South Korea international told United's official website.

"I am really enjoying my time here and I appreciate all that Sir Alex and the staff have done for me, but I have to mention the fans too, as they are incredible.

"We have achieved great success over the last four years and won many trophies. It is a great experience for me to play at this magnificent football club along with other world famous players."

Ferguson added: "We're always pleased to secure the future of our star players and Ji-Sung has proved himself to be a fantastic professional and an important, versatile player in our squad."

Park became the first Asian player to appear in a Champions League Final when he featured in last season's 2-0 defeat to Barcelona in Rome.
