Park overcomes knee problem
12 Nov 2009 - 09:26:58
Manchester United midfielder Ji-Sung Park has declared himself fit following a lengthy battle with a knee injury.
Park, 28, claims he is fit and ready to captain South Korea in their upcoming friendlies against Denmark and Serbia despite being sidelined for United since September.
"I am in good enough shape to play in the friendlies," Park told The Korea Times. "If it is possible, I want to play in both matches."
The versatile midfielder has missed United's last 11 games and has revealed that his fitness is being monitored by one of the Old Trafford club's medical staff.
"The trainer will arrive tomorrow. The national team doesn't have a physical trainer, so he can help me," he added.
"This suggestion came from the physical trainer, not Alex Ferguson. But Ferguson agreed to allow the trainer to come with me."
