Obertan ready to make debut

Summer signing Gabriel Obertan will finally make his Manchester United debut in the reserves on Monday evening.

The 19-year-old Frenchman joined the Red Devils in a £3million August transfer from Bordeaux, but has been unable to play due to a back injury.

However, the winger has now been given the green light to make his first appearance against Oldham Athletic in the Manchester Senior Cup.

Brazilian full-back Rafael will also make his first appearance of the season in the game at Hyde.

Rafael has been sidelined since a summer operation on a shoulder problem.

He made a significant contribution to the first team last season after making 28 appearances during a breakthrough campaign.
