Manchester United restored their seven-point lead at the top of the table after being given a scare at Newcastle. Peter Lovenkrands put the Magpies ahead as Edwin van der Sar conceded for the first time in 1,311 minutes after he spilled Jonas Gutierrez's shot. Wayne Rooney levelled with a fine low shot on the turn from 20-yards.
