Manchester United captain Gary Neville has set his sights on a return to the first team in 'the next few weeks'.
The 32-year-old defender has suffered a series of setbacks in his bid to return from a long-term ankle injury which has kept him sidelined since March.
However, despite being sent to a specialist last week after seeing his latest comeback stall, the England defender has been given the green light to return to training with a view to a new year comeback.
"It could be better, obviously - I could be playing," he told MUTV.
"It's been frustrating these last few months but hopefully now I can train, maybe next week, with the first team and get back to playing in the next few weeks.
"But it's a bit frustrating because every time I seem to be getting near to coming back, something else crops up.
"But hopefully I'm over everything now and I can get back playing."
