Moyes needs supporting, not slating by Manchester United fans
Manchester United sit down in eighth position after their worst start to the Premier League for 24 years. They've won just three of their last eight Premier League games and have already lost three times against West Brom and bitter rivals Manchester City and Liverpool. Taking 11 points from a possible 24.
Makes for pretty grim reading doesn't it? Well that's if you're a Manchester United fan anyway, I'm pretty sure supporters from every other club in the league have been loving the 'demise' of United under Moyes. I'm also fairly sure there is a similar paragraph somewhere in the annals of history that was used to describe Sir Alex Ferguson's early reign at Old Trafford. But that's the point I'm trying to make, Moyes needs time. He needs time to get across his style of play, his ideas and his methods. He needs time to show he has what it takes to be a winner.
Not to worry, despite the quite ridiculous calls to cut their losses the Manchester United board shows no signs of panicking as Moyes gets to grips with what was always going to be a mammoth task for whichever manager took over the Old Trafford hot seat.
The Scott has a six-year contract and I'd put money on him fulfilling that contract and I'll even go as far to say he'll make a success of it. The bottom line is 'Rome wasn't built in a day' and that is what Manchester United fans need to realise. There will be losses, there will be disappointing results but things will get better.
'I'd also like to remind you that when we had bad times here, the club stood by me, all my staff stood by me, the players stood by me. Your job now is to stand by our new manager. That is important.'
Those were some of Sir Alex Ferguson's last words as Manchester United manager at Old Trafford, but it seems to many 'fans' have already forgotten this great man's words.
