Rooney took part in a warm-up session of ball work before undertaking shuttle runs. Throughout, the forward appeared unperturbed by the off-field turmoil, laughing with his team-mates during the practice session. Aside from Rooney, Rio Ferdinand took part in the session, as did the Portuguese youngster Bebe.
