Manchester United move to play down Real Madrids 75m Cristiano Ronaldo bid

It was suggested the Spanish giants were so confident of finally completing the move, first mooted last summer, that personal terms on his contract had already been secretly agreed. A sky-high fee may tempt the Glazer family, who own United, to sell, but any deal would first have to overcome Ferguson's considerable objections.
