Manchester United midfielder Anderson out for six months after knee operation

Manchester United will be without Anderson for around six months after the midfielder had an operation on his knee. The Brazilian ruptured his cruciate ligament during the 3-0 win over West Ham last month and went under the knife in Portugal. He is expected to be released from hospital tomorrow (Tuesday). Portugese specialist Jose Carlos Noronha said: 'The operation was a success and without any complications. If all goes well in his rehabilitation then he could return to training without any restrictions in six months.'
