Manchester United linked with 25-year-old La Liga star
Croatian press are linking Premier League champions with Sivilla's 25-year-old midfielder Ivan Rakitic.
The underrated Croatian international has scored more goals in the Spanish top flight than the likes of Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas and Sociedad's Carlos Vela and is currently level on goals with Real Madrid stiker Karim Benzema whilst only Neymar, Fabregas and Koke have more assists than him.
Rakitic is undoubtedly Sevilla's prize asset this season, after selling the likes of Gary Medel, Alvaro Negredo and Jesus Navas to various clubs during the summer transfer window. The player has netted goals against Real Madrid and Barcelona this season and has shown that he has what it takes to compete against the big teams which is why the big clubs, like Manchester United, are being linked with the midfielder who probably deserves more credit than he is currently receiving in Spain.
Croatian publication Jutarnji List recently wrote a piece linking the player with a move to the Premier League, also stating that Chelsea had an interest in acquiring the players services but with Manchester United's current midfield problems they look more likely to lay down an offer the Sevilla man.
According the statisticians WhoScored Ivan Rakitic is rated as the 4th best player in La Liga and would certainly be a player David Moyes should be considering as he compiles his Janurary trasnfer window shopping list.
