Manchester United Linchpin Michael Carrick Looks Set To Be Out Of Play
Manchester United's midfielder will be out of play for up to six weeks
Michael Carrick will be out of action for up to six weeks, following an Achilles tendon injury.
He has now had to withdraw from the England squad against Chile and Germany.
The news came after he played the full 90 minutes in the win over rivals Arsenal on Sunday.
The lay out means that Carrick will be out until after Christmas, missing six crucial league games for United.
The United midfielder suffered an Achilles problem when United faced Fulham which kept him out of that game and it seems that the same problem has occurred leaving him out of action for just under two months.
Up until the Fulham game on November 2nd, former Tottenham and West Ham player Carrick had not missed any games in the campaign to defend the Premiership from rivals.
With United back to their winning ways this has come as blow to the whole team and the manager.
United are set to face Carrick's old team Tottenham on December 1st and then West ham on the 21st December.
They also face Cardiff,Everton,Newcastle and Aston Villa over the next six weeks, along with two champions league games and the Capital One quarter final at Stoke.
