Manchester United striker Federico Macheda is the latest Premier League footballer to be targeted by burglars. The 17-year-old was at home in Sale when two thieves broke in and stole money and jewellery. The incident occurred at 3.40am on Sunday morning and police have refused to comment on whether the robbery was linked to a row earlier in the evening outside a Manchester city centre nightclub. The Italian's friend suffered minor head injuries during the intrusion and a police statement declared that inquiries were ongoing. "Two men stole cash and jewellery from the victims before running out of the house," a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said. "One man suffered a minor cut to his head in the robbery. Inquiries are ongoing."
