Louis Van Gaal is to tell his players they are not needed but who?
Ruthless new boss Louis Van Gaal has looked at his Manchester United squad the past few weeks in pre-season & he's now looking to shift players he thinks are no longer needed, let's have a look at who he's potentially looking at.
Anderson - The 26 year old Brazilian has been at the club for seven years & never held down a regular starting birth, lack of form & injuries not helping his cause, the midfielder was loaned to Fiorentina for the second part of last season in January. Many are thinking he is on his way out of the club.
Nani - Also like Anderson, the Portugal winger, now 27, has also been at the club since 2007 & had a decent first 18 months at the club, but form dipped when Ronaldo was sold, he does show flashes of brilliance but not enough for many of the fans liking, rarely seen last season & Nani continues to be linked with top sides in Serie A, a slower league would suit Nani. With Van Gaal favouring the 5-3-2 wing-back system in pre-season, he rarely tracks back, Nani looks doomed.
Kagawa - The Japanese attacking midfielder, 25, was signed from Borussia Dortmund for big money two years a go after having a successful time in Germany, he's struggled for form & like Anderson, injuries keep hampering his progress, with Mata & Rooney liking to play just off the striker, Kagawa looks like another who may be forced to move on.
Hernandez - Many would agree the Mexican international striker is a quality poacher of goals, the 26 year old would grab you 20 goals a season if he played regular football but that's the problem he's always had since arriving four years a go, keeping his place in the starting line up rather than the bench. With Van Persie, Rooney, Welbeck & possibly a breakthrough season for James Wilson ahead of him in the pecking order, many of the Premier League & top European sides would gladly take the striker.
Zaha - Very talented, quick, direct & full of tricks, the 21 year old still has plenty of potential in him. Zaha was the main man when helped Crystal Palace getting in to the Premier League, he found it hard last campaign under David Moyes & was loaned out to Cardiff City in January. If Van Gaal keeps him, it's highly unlikely Zaha will be used as a wing-back so it looks like a striker role but would too much competition force the youngster out? It could be another loan spell out to another Premier League club.
