Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves faces a month on the sidelines after having an injection to try and cure a knee problem and will miss England's Euro 2008 qualifiers against Estonia and Russia.
The 26-year-old former Bayern Munich schemer had hoped to return to action in the Champions League clash with AS Roma on Tuesday evening, but broke down in training and now faces another stint out of action.
Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed: "Owen has had an injection in his knee and he'll be out for three to four weeks.
"This is an option we had from the very start and if it resurfaced again we decided we would do that.
"He felt it in training so we decided to do something immediately. So he's had an injection to try to clear the tendinitis in his knee.
"Hopefully that's the end of it and he will come back 100 per cent."
Hargreaves has been limited to just three appearances for the Red Devils since his summer arrival from German giants Bayern.
