Jamie Redknapp Praises Rooney

Football pundit and former Tottenham and Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp believes that United striker Wayne Rooney is just the player you want in a big game.

Rooney netted twice against Liverpool on Saturday and games don’t come any bigger than that one when it comes to rivalry.

Rooney thrives on the big match conditions and has proved time after time that he has fully grown up from the hothead that he used to be and is now a player who can handle the pressure of big games.

Redknapp wrote in the Daily Mail: "Wayne Rooney has an impressive record against United's rivals this season.

"His two terrific finishes in an extraordinary match against Liverpool are added to three against Arsenal and Chelsea, two against Man City and one against Spurs, as well as scoring the goal of last season with that overhead kick against City.

“Big names win big games."
