Hargreaves waiting for bids

England midfielder Owen Hargreaves claims to be in the dark about speculation linking him with an imminent move to Manchester United.

The 25-year-old, who currently plays his club football for Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, is rumoured to have caught the eye of Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson with his performances at the World Cup.

Press reports had suggested a £9million transfer is close to being finalised, but Hargreaves insists he is still some way from realising his ambition to play for a top Premiership club.

"In football, anything is possible. You have seen that in the past and the transfer deadline is not until August 31," he said.

"I can't say what will happen between now and then. Obviously with the way the World Cup went for myself, more English teams have seen what I can offer and are more interested."
